Position Title :Asian Marketing Specialist
Reports to :Marketing Manager Attractions
Business Unit:Marketing
Role Purpose:
To provide marketing support to the Marketing teams in the delivery of Attractions portfolio campaigns for inbound Free International Travellers and local domestic audiences from China, Malaysia, South East Asia, Singapore.
The role covers social media support, including a communications plan and calendar for each Social site, working with external and internal partners such as ATEED, Auckland Chinese Community, SKYCITY Hotels, tourism, sales and Tower teams and Design Studio providing guidance, insight and language, tone, manner, style and nuanced message support.

- Assists with the design and implementation of a communications strategy and calendar for all relevant domestic and inbound markets
- Implementation of all marketing activity within budget and within delegated authority

- Campaign, content and promotional ideas
- Technology requirements incl. New social sites/equipment to assist with content development/software to monitor
- Strategic partners and suppliers

- Creation of highly effective communications that appeal to diverse audiences across the various media and POS platforms
- Growth in content and engagement (likes, shares, visitation etc)
- Establish SKYCITY as a superior entertainment venue – and always relevant
- Manage content in a compelling way to get broader reach in both NZ and abroad

Attributes / Knowledge / Experience
Qualifications & Experiences
- Excellent written and verbal Mandarin, Simple Chinese and English
- 5years + communications experience
- Business Management or Communications or creative media qualification
- Sound interpersonal skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally
- Computer savvy with strong excel and Microsoft competency and familiarity with social media tools
- Strong organisation and time management skills – ability to plan ahead, set priorities, attend to details, handle multiple tasks concurrently, meet deadlines and take responsibility for actions
Preferred
- Prior experience of working in a highly regulated environment or in a fast-paced environment
- Tourism, Hospitality or Gaming Experience
Develop and implements media communications plans for all business units aimed at increasing awareness, revenues and visitation, which are aligned with the overall SCAL marketing strategy(45% of total job):
- Develop and implement a strategic promotional and communications plan that is aligned to the wider departmental strategies and plans
- Develop and implement marketing activities, including the marketing of special events, to achieve visitation and revenue objectives, ensuring alignment with strategy and maximising available budgets
- Work closely with Operations Managers and GM Gaming to ensure communications are on brand for the outlet and content is varied and entertaining
- A passionate advocate for the SKYCITY brand, ensuring all initiatives are on-brand and key messages are aligned
- Work closely with the Corporate Communications team to maximise message opportunities without ‘over-communication’
Design and implement a communications plan that aligns required translations with English output(25% of total job):
- Manages the translations and ongoing communications of marketing materials into the 7 designated languages as and when required
Develop and maintain a strong professional relationship with relevant internal and external stakeholders(20% of total job):
- Manage internal customer requirements, ensuring regular communications around timeframes for deliver of projects
- Build a positive relationship with influencers and stakeholders in the Auckland and tourism communities to promote SKYCITY to a wider audience
Ensure regulatory compliance(10% of total job):
- Design and implement a marketing strategy aligns with regulatory compliance
- Incorporate CRM technologies in the mix where possible to improve effectiveness, lower cost and improve value to members.
- Execute promotions and advertising to generate the greatest impact within agreed legal and regulatory constraints.
- Minimise business risk by ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies and procedures
- Champion DIA and Harm Minimisation compliance in Marketing
